About Me

I have over 9 years working professionally with NodeJS and JavaScript, and over 12 years working in Software Engineering. I would describe myself as an individual that loves to learn. I have spent a majority of my career learning how to learn more efficiently and effectively (to add value) and that is my greatest strength. I like to keep an open mind. I have worked primarily in the Quality Assurance (Testing) side of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). I have spent a majority of my career working as a Test Automation Engineer. I have switched to work on the Development side of the SDLC currently working as a Web Developer. I work as a front-end web developer and I enjoy the unique challenges it brings forth on a day to day. Outside of work hours, I focus on learning full stack web development, and mobile app development. I enjoy learning on Udemy.

Web Development

After spending the early parts of my career writing automated tests for web applications. I grew very familiar with the browser, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and I developed a love for it. The web is a very powerful way to communicate ideas and services to an audience world wide not limited by borders in anyway. I offer services to build and maintain companies web applications.

Test Automation

Mobile and Web applications are a very scalable, efficient and reliable way for companies to sell goods and offers services to a wide range of consumers across the globe. Consumer needs evolve with time. It is important for Business Web and Mobile applications evolve to cater for those needs. As such I write scripts to test if those applications still meet customers needs.

Mobile Development

Native mobile apps play a very important role in my life. My mobile phone is with me everywhere I go. As such I started off my programming journey by Learning Swift for iOS development and Java for Android development. I was introduced to Dart with Flutter and it is now my preferred tool for building native mobile applications.

Osiris Trading / Betway

Frontend Developer

Osiris Trading is a business that powers a global sports book called Betway. In my 2 and a half years at Osiris, I served as a developer and I built and maintained and tested the Betway sports betting web applications using Angular7, Kentico CMS HTML CSS and JavaScript consuming REST services. I also assisted QA with setting up a Test Automation framework for Web, iOS and Android Apps. I also built various mini games, leaderboards and promotional splash pages. I also trained a Junior Developer.

QA/Test Engineer

Standard bank is one of the biggest banks in Africa. I started my Software Engineering career as a tester in a Testing Learnership. As I gained experience I learned NodeJS and started writing automated tests in JavaScript. In my 5 and a half years at the bank, I set up various Test Automation frameworks and I mentored Graduates. I worked primarily with Internet Banking collaborating with developers in ensuring quality across the platform.
